State Lobbying
the MARE Executive Director keeps track of legislative bills dealing with education issues, being introduced and passed during each session. The Executive Director meets and works with the Missouri Association of School Administrators lobbyist to ensure that the legislative platform of the Missouri Association of Rural Education is heard by the legislators.
State Agency Support
The MARE Executive Director becomes familiar with proposed rules and regulations being considered by the State Board of Education, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and other state agencies that may effect the operations of rural school districts. This is accomplished by regular attendance at the monthly State Board of Education meetings as well as correspondence with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
