POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Managing, facilitating and leading all parts of Special Services, including knowledge and/or competency in each of the following areas:
a. School law including components of regular/career/special education;
b. Teaching-learning processes;
c. Public relations;
d. Educational measurements;
e. Evaluation of teachers and human resource management;
f. School business, finance, and federal funding;
g. Philosophy of regular/career/special education;
h. Administration and coordination of special programs and service;
i. Administration and coordination of school activities programs; and
j. Instruction in communication skills (reading, writing, spelling, listening, speaking).

l. State and Federal compliance
m. Other duties to be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A professional certificate of license to teach in an area of special education or student services.
2. A minimum of two (2) years special education or student services teaching experience approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
3. Successful completion of the building-level administrator's assessment designated by the State Board of Education
4. Completion of a course in Psychology and/or Education of the Exceptional Child
5. Completion of a master's degree in educational leadership from a college/university meeting approval of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
